Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

My First Home Buyer Mentor is a podcast produced in collaboration with Finance Lab Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information when you interact with the podcast website at myfirsthomebuyermentor.com.au, the quiz, lead-form submissions, podcast downloads, and any guides you request from us.

1. What we collect.

  • Your name, email address, and phone number when you complete the quiz, request a PDF guide, or use the "Talk to Dad's team" form.
  • Your preferred contact time, where you are in the first-home journey, your target city, deposit band, and timeline. We only hold these if you share them with us via the quiz.
  • How you use the site. That means the pages you view, how far down a page you scroll, which episodes you play and how much of each one you listen to or watch, which other videos you play, which guides you open, and when you start a form or the quiz. These records are tied to a first-party cookie we set called "fhbm_vid", not to your name. Contact details are stripped out before anything is stored.
  • Standard analytics data (page views, link clicks, device and browser information) through Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel, which is the measurement tag for Facebook and Instagram advertising.
  • When you send us a form: the page you sent it from, the page that sent you to us, any campaign tags in the link you clicked, your browser type, and the country and city your internet connection resolves to.
  • Information automatically logged by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and abuse prevention. That includes IP address, request timestamps and referrer URLs.

2. Why we collect it.

  • To send you the resources you've asked for (PDF guides, the quiz pack, the weekly show email).
  • To allow Dad's team at Finance Lab to follow up if you've asked to be contacted.
  • To improve the podcast and the website: which episodes get listened to, which guides get downloaded, which questions people most often ask.
  • To measure our advertising, so we can see which ads and which content actually help people and put our money there.
  • To comply with our legal obligations under Australian privacy law.

3. Who we share it with.

We share your information only with:

  • Finance Lab Pty Ltd, if you've consented to being contacted by Dad's team. Finance Lab is authorised under Australian Credit Licence Number 389328 (Credit Representative Number 425945) and is bound by the same privacy obligations.
  • Cluse & Co Pty Ltd, our marketing agency. Cluse & Co runs the website, the enquiry systems and the reporting on our behalf, so it handles the information you send us. Section 8 explains the part of that work AI helps with.
  • Our service providers, including ActiveCampaign (email + CRM), Cloudflare (hosting, and the database your enquiry is stored in), Google Analytics (analytics), and Resend (transactional email). These providers process your data on our behalf under contractual privacy obligations.
  • Meta Platforms. The Meta Pixel on this site (Facebook and Instagram advertising) records which pages you view and which forms you complete, so we can measure and target our advertising. Your name, email address and phone number are never sent to Meta from your browser.
  • Government authorities, only if we're legally required to.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact details with advertisers, podcast guests, or unrelated third parties.

4. How long we keep it.

We keep your information only as long as we need to provide the services you've requested or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see section 6).

Two specific limits are worth naming. The records of how you use the site (section 1) are deleted automatically once they are 90 days old. The "fhbm_vid" cookie lasts up to 400 days from the day it is set, and you can clear it from your browser whenever you like.

5. How we protect it.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure credential management. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access.

6. Your rights.

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any personal information that's wrong or out of date.
  • Withdraw consent and ask us to delete your data.
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link).
  • Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you think we've mishandled your data.

7. Cookies + analytics.

We set two cookies of our own:

  • "fhbm_vid", a random id that lasts up to 400 days. It ties the activity described in section 1 to one browser, so we can see how people move through the site and, if you later send us an enquiry, what you were reading before you did. It holds no contact details.
  • "fhbm_quiz_done", which lasts 30 days. It remembers that you have already finished the quiz, so we don't ask you again.

Your browser also stores a session id and your mid-quiz answers for the length of the visit. That data stays in your browser and clears when you close the tab.

Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set their own cookies for measurement and advertising. You can turn these off in your browser settings, or with a browser extension, and the site will still work. If you block cookies and storage entirely, the quiz will not remember mid-progress answers.

8. How we use AI.

We use artificial intelligence (AI) to help us look after enquiries. When you contact us, an AI-assisted system operated by our agency, Cluse & Co Pty Ltd, reads the details you have given us so it can pass your enquiry to the right person, summarise it, draft a reply for our team, and report on the enquiries we receive.

A person always makes the decisions that matter. AI helps our team answer you properly and quickly. It does not assess your finances, and it is never used to decide anything about a loan or what you can borrow. Any credit decision is made by a licensed person at Finance Lab.

Your enquiry is held in our Cloudflare database and in ActiveCampaign, the same systems listed in section 3. We do not sell your personal information.

If you have a question about how AI is used with your details, email us using the address in section 9 and we will explain it.

9. Contact us.

10. Changes to this policy.
